Dear Valued Supporter,
When Betty Bobp founded Harwich Junior Theatre in 1951, she knew that when people of all ages create together “the potential for growth is boundless.” Her conviction that “children will live up to the highest expectations every time” guided her work in theatre education for young people. To this day, Harwich Junior Theatre’s dedication in making the performing arts accessible to young people of all backgrounds informs everything we do.
Harwich Junior Theatre’s mission is to: provide young people and their families with the opportunity to explore and expand their creative talents and aspirations, to entertain, to develop and foster a love and full appreciation of theater and to enrich lives through the theatrical experience.
Harwich Junior Theatre is now celebrating 60 years of bringing theater of the highest caliber to diverse audiences on Cape Cod. The Massachusetts Office of Tourism recently voted HJT to be one of the Greatest Places to Visit. HJT was recently voted BEST THEATER by Cape Cod Life and Cape Cod View Magazines and tops the Cape Cod Chamber of Commerce “A LIST”. HJT is beloved by audiences of all ages for its stunning live performances. Our year round classes are a national model for theatre arts education.
Today Harwich Junior Theatre honors the pioneering work of Betty Bobp through the scholarship program named in her honor. No child has ever been turned away because of financial considerations. Through this important initiative we honor the legacy and vision of Betty Bobp.
Please help us fund our scholarships so that even more children can benefit from our classes. This year we are receiving many more applications for scholarship aid. With your generous donation to the Betty Bobp Scholarship Fund an exciting world of creativity will open up to a new generation. Thank you for sharing in our success!
With Appreciation,
Nina Schuessler - Producing Artistic Director
